Hello — I’m Natalia. Welcome.
I’ve been working as a counsellor and psychotherapist for over a decade, from a quiet, private office just off the M1 at Lisburn — with online sessions for clients further afield. Across that time I’ve sat with a wide range of people working through a wide range of things. What stays consistent is the belief that brought me into this work in the first place: that nobody has to make sense of their difficulties on their own, and that the right kind of conversation, in the right kind of room, makes a real difference.
Who I work with
I work with individuals and couples on issues including anxiety, depression, low confidence, addictions, trauma, relationship difficulties, bereavement, work-related stress and life transitions. Some clients arrive with a specific issue they want to address; others arrive less certain — they only know that something needs to change, and counselling is one of the things they’re trying. Both starting points are welcome.
I find I work particularly well with people who are sceptical of counselling — perhaps because they’ve not tried it before, or had a previous experience that didn’t suit them. I’m also at ease with people in long-term relationships and families working through dynamics that have built up over years, with professionals navigating burnout or significant work pressure, and with people moving through major transitions or loss.
My approach
People come into counselling needing different things, and I move between approaches accordingly. Some clients want a steady, warm listener — someone who simply makes space to be heard properly. Others want practical structure — tools they can use between sessions, ways of catching unhelpful thought patterns, a clearer plan. Many want both, in different proportions, at different points in the work.
I’m trained in person-centred counselling as a foundation, with further training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), relationship and couples work, and clinical hypnotherapy for situations where it suits. The blend I draw on for any one client is shaped by the work we’re doing, not by a fixed formula.
Training and accreditation
I hold a BSc in Psychology, a FdSc in Counselling, and a Diploma in Hypnotherapy & Counselling (DipHypCs). I’m an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) — the professional body for counselling in the UK — and work to the BACP Ethical Framework. BACP accreditation means I’m bound by clear professional standards around confidentiality, ongoing supervision, and continuing professional development; you can verify my registration on the BACP register at bacp.co.uk.
What working with me is like
Sessions are confidential, unhurried, and led by what you bring rather than by a clinical agenda. There’s no judgement attached to anything you share. We set the pace together; if something isn’t working, we say so and adjust. My job is to help you see your situation more clearly and to support you in deciding what you’d like to do with that clarity.
Get in touch
If you’re considering counselling and want to know whether we’d be a good fit, please get in touch. The first conversation isn’t a commitment to anything — it’s a chance to talk through what’s brought you here and decide whether to take the next step.
